Good Will Win

Proverbs 14:19:
19 The evil bow down before the good, the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

It's nice to know how the story ends. Sometimes in life the bad guy wins. Even before Jesus, God has planned the final victory for his people.

If that's what you believe...

a lot of story endings happen in the reality we live in. Many a story ending claimed in the Bible have yet to happen. Some say it may never happen. What do you do if it never happened?

Well first I'm curious which ending you think haven't happened.

My guess if that if this isn't going to happen at the end of my life I won't be sentient enough to know.

I believe the whole final victory thing hasn't happened. I assume if it did, you and other Christians would feel slighted that you weren't included.

If it isn't going to happen at the end of your life - and you're not sentient to know, do you think the sacrifices you've made for your God were worth it? Even if there was no God?

I think we all agree the "final victory" hasn't come yet. We'd know if it did.

As to your question, hmm, that's a tough one. If it turns out there is no victory for God's people, would my sacrifices be worth it? I honestly don't know.

There is certainly a general correlation with being kind and worldly success. So it's not as if being a Christian always inhibits personal success. But there have certainly be sacrifices I've made that I wouldn't have made without the influence of the story of Jesus.

I can't honestly say how I would feel. Great question.
